Update 12.9.16 9:47am: After reviewing the forecast for Friday, December 9, 2016, we do NOT anticipate issuing a Severe Weather Notice.

Severe Weather triggers are as follows:
1.    Forecasted temperature or wind chill 25°F (-3.9°C) or below

2.    Forecasted snow accumulations of 1.0 inch or more sticking to the ground in most locations.
3.    Forecasted temperature at or below 32°F (0°C) with driving rain of 1.0 inch or more overnight.

Nonetheless, weather conditions will be challenging for those who are sleeping outside. Anyone seeking shelter should contact 211info, reached by dialing 2-1-1. 211info will be available to identify shelter and warming center resources 24/7. Additionally, shelter information is available at www.211info.org and by texting "pdxshelter" to 898211.

As a reminder, the following winter shelter is currently open:

Peace Shelter 2

Intake: Reserve a spot by either calling 503-280-4700 Monday-Friday 8am-4pm or walking in to the Transition Projects Day Center Monday-Friday 7am-6:45pm, Saturday/Sunday/holidays 8am-3:45pm (650 NW Irving Street)
Hours: 7 nights per week 7pm-6:30am throughout winter season
Serves: Individuals who identify as male, age 18 and older, with priority for age 55 and older, those with disabilities, and veterans
